Feedlock helps you block distracting apps and websites on your own device. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app contains no advertising or attribution SDKs.
The short version
- What you block, and when you're blocked, stays on your device. Screen Time data never reaches our servers.
- You can use Feedlock without an account blocking works fully signed out.
- An account exists only to back up your streak and to connect you with an accountability partner.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.
What stays on your device
Feedlock uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity) to shield the apps and websites you choose.
None of that information is transmitted anywhere. Specifically, we never collect, transmit or store:
- Which apps or websites you have chosen to block
-
The Apple tokens representing those apps
(
ApplicationToken,WebDomainToken,ActivityCategoryToken) - Your app usage, browsing history, or search history
- The name of any app you tried to open
- Whether you have enabled the adult-content website filter
Your answers to the onboarding questions also stay on your device.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Email address & name | To create and sign you into your account. Your name is shown to an accountability partner you invite. | Supabase |
| Account identifier | To link your data to your account. | Supabase, PostHog, RevenueCat |
| Notification token | To deliver notifications, including a partner nudge. | Supabase, Expo push service |
| Purchase history | To unlock and restore Feedlock Pro. | RevenueCat, Apple |
| Aggregate activity counts | Daily totals how many times a block stopped you, how many passes you took so your streak survives a new phone. Counts only. Never which app. | Supabase |
| Product interaction | Usage events (screens opened, features used) to understand what works. | PostHog |
| Accountability messages | If you send a partner a nudge, the message is stored and delivered. Nudges are chosen from a fixed list of four preset phrases; there is no free-text messaging. | Supabase, Expo push service |
If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we only ever receive Apple's relay address.
What an accountability partner can see
If you invite someone as your witness, they can see:
- Your display name
- That you overrode a block, and when
- Your aggregate activity counts and streak
They cannot see which apps you blocked, which app you opened, your browsing, or anything else on your device. You can remove a partner at any time from the Partner tab.
Who we share data with
We use these processors, and no one else:
- Supabase account, database and authentication hosting
- RevenueCat subscription and purchase management
- PostHog product analytics
- Expo push notification delivery
- Apple payment processing and Sign in with Apple
Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if legally required to do so.
Tracking
Feedlock does not track you. We do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, and we do not link your activity to data from other companies' apps or websites.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Aggregate activity counts older than 120 days are removed automatically. Delete your account and everything associated with it is deleted from our systems.
Deleting your account
Open Settings › Delete account inside the app. This permanently deletes your account, profile, activity history, partnerships and notification tokens.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription Apple manages that. Cancel it in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us and we will respond.
Children
Feedlock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We will update this page if this policy changes, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app.
